Vengeance

My daughter has really struggled with getting even or executing her own judgement over her brothers and friends lately. I doubt there's a person who hasn't felt hurt, mistreated, overlooked, dismissed, or annoyed and wanted to do something about it. We have had so many conversations that haven't really gone anywhere until this reminder brought fresh reconstruction. I deconstructed the belief that I needed her to refute offense and take up self-control and reconstuct in it's place the reminder that vengeance doesn't belong to me. I told her of a time when I was in high school that my offense to a situation led me into a plan for revenge that I would soon regret. It taught me what I hope to teach her without her having to bare the pain and suffering that I caused someone else to feel, or even the guilt and shame of being the one to judge and execute judgement that was never mine to give.
