Vizrt 4 Font Shadows Tutorial
How to create drop shadows for your fonts using the Shadows tab. You can make drop shadows on your fonts right from the font properties window. The area that you’ll need to access is the Shadow tab. Once you drag a font into the scene tree and click on the ABC/font icon on the container, it will take you into the font editor. This Shadow tab will allow you to select your drop shadow and adjust the parameters. First, it must be mentioned that for a drop shadow to work it’s best to import the additional fonts when you first import the font. You may want different variations of a font to use as shadows. For instance, you may want a blur 1, blur 2, blur 3 and blur 4 option of your font to import when you bring it into Vizrt. You can do that within the configuration setting and you can learn more about importing fonts in the import fonts video. To turn a shadow on you’ll need to turn the Active button on under the Shadow tab. Once the shadow is active you can choose which font or font variation you want as your shadow. Again, this is where those blurred fonts might come in handy. The shadow has its own color wheel so you can choose what color shadow you want on your font. Once you have the shadow applied you can then adjust the Direction if need be. You also have the option to adjust the Distance of the font and the Z position of the shadow as well. The shadow doesn’t just need to be one of the blurred fonts. It’s also possible to use an outline font as a shadow as well. This won’t be much of a shadow but will act more like a stroke.
