VS 2 Tutorial - MIDI Mapping
In this tutorial, we explore the MIDI Mapping Manager in VS 2 and show you how to use external MIDI controllers to take full, hands-on control of your visuals. MIDI mapping is ideal for live performances, expressive control, and fast visual tweaking without touching the interface. VS allows you to map almost every parameter—including matrix cells—and manage everything from a dedicated mapping panel. ⚠️ Requires VS version 2.0.5 or newer In this video, you’ll learn how to: - Enable MIDI Learn mode - Create mappings instantly using your controller - Manually assign MIDI messages (CC or Note) - Scale control ranges for precise adjustments - Use 14-bit MIDI for high-resolution control (when supported) - Manage, edit, delete, and organize mappings - Link mappings to the current layer for flexible performance setups - Copy, paste, export, and import MIDI mappings between patches All MIDI mappings are stored inside your patches, making it easy to build reusable setups or switch control schemes instantly. This tutorial is guided by Nuno’s avatar, walking you step by step through the workflow.
