Welcome to Week 2 Tutorial 8 of the course "Mathematics for Data Science I" by Profs. Neelesh Upadhye, Madhavan Mukund. Sanya looks down from her 80 foot balcony using a flashlight that shines at angles between theta and alpha. Given the positions and heights of two thieves, and using tan theta = 2 and tan alpha = 16/9, we work out whether either thief is visible. The step by step solution explains how to use trigonometric ratios, slopes, and geometry to analyze visibility.
