The session explains how to run, suspend, resume, and terminate processes using commands like sleep, coproc, jobs, top, fg, and kill. You will understand how processes operate in the foreground and background and how to effectively switch between them. The lecture also introduces important shell variables such as $? and $-, explaining their significance in monitoring process status and shell behavior. Additionally, you will explore exit codes within the bash environment and learn how to execute commands based on their outcomes. By the end of this lecture, you will be able to manage processes efficiently from the Linux command line.
