Wayne Sandy was a founding member of the Mununjali Yugambeh Dancers alongside his brother Jason Sandy. Both Wayne and Jason danced with Imbala, Wakka Wakka, and Nunukul Kunjiel.
Wayne is a holder of Mununjali Yugambeh stories and songs. He also started two Butchulla Dance groups after moving to his Grand Mothers country (Butchulla) Hervey Bay. The groups were a senior and junior dance team that performed as well as delivered cultural workshops. Many of the young people he taught are adults now and still take part in Butchulla traditional dance today.
