Webinar - Microsaccade analysis in R
The online saccade parser implemented in the EyeLink Host Software is not designed to detect microsaccades (e.g. saccades less than ~1 degree of visual angle). If you want to detect microsaccades in your EyeLink data, you will need to use an alternative technique, such as the widely adopted approach described by Engbert and Kleigl in their 2003 paper. This webinar will provide a practical demonstration of how to use the Microsaccade Toolbox for R (Engbert et al, 2015) to detect microsaccades in EyeLink data. The topics covered will include: 00:00 - Intro to Microsaccades 08:45 - EyeLink Host Software (Online Saccade Parser and Heuristic Filter) 13:04 - MS_Toolbox_R Overview 15:30 - Walkthrough of demo.R Script 25:56 - Walkthrough of the Core R Scripts 42:36 - How to Format and Extract Pupil Data With Data Viewer 45:45 - Walkthrough of the EyeLink_Demo.R Wrapper Script You can download a copy of the video, the PowerPoint, and a ZIP file with the microsaccade files at the following link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1PLSB3P-aJV-U9pxZ9AY1VcpJ50JB3WqQ
