Welcome to Week 1 of Sociology 115 at UCSD during the summer session of 2024.
In this lecture, I provide foundational sociological and philosophical concepts, introduce you to the sociological imagination, and differentiate between social problems and private troubles. You are encouraged to begin thinking sociologically about the concepts for next week as we venture more into them.
