WordPress Plugin Configuration with Chris Reynolds, Senior Developer Advocate
If you manage WordPress sites on Pantheon, you know the context-switching tax: logging into the WordPress admin for one thing, the Pantheon dashboard for another. Chris Reynolds built a plugin to fix that. Ash Nazg (one ring, one dashboard — yes, really) pulls the Pantheon Dashboard directly into the WordPress admin, using the Pantheon API to handle the things you'd normally have to leave WordPress to do. In this walkthrough, Chris shows how the plugin handles authentication via machine tokens or Pantheon Secrets, enabling site add-ons like Redis and Solr, installing Object Cache Pro with a single click, switching between Git and SFTP modes, creating and managing Multidev environments, cloning databases and files between environments, fetching and clearing logs, deploying code, and applying upstream updates — all without leaving the WP admin. There's also a big red button that deletes the site. It comes with warnings. Chris uses it live.
