An alias makes it easier to change the address of your instrument or even the interface used to connect your instrument. In this example we use a 34410A digital multimeter which has a built-in LAN, USB and GPIB interface. A Visual Basic program is created with an Alias and the Alias is updated so we can use different interfaces.
