To level up your overall drum technique, start by recording at your maximum tempo so you can analyze exactly how your stick control sounds, looks, and feels. Next, drop the metronome (or play-along) all the way down to 40 bpm to expose hidden rhythmic inconsistencies and refine your drum technique, ensuring things like left-hand taps and legato strokes are completely flawless. From there, increase the tempo by just 1 bpm per repetition, strictly maintaining a relaxed drumming motion even at incredibly slow speeds so you don't accidentally build bad habits. By repeating this highly methodical process daily over weeks and months, I have found it is the absolute best way to build explosive drum speed, develop massive endurance, and master your drum rudiments from the ground up.
