Ashes in the rain
“ Ashes in the rain “ The house still holds your shadow light, Your laughter in the hallway night. I hear your footsteps in my mind, But turn around and no one’s there to find. Your coat still hangs beside the door, Like you might walk in once more. But time keeps moving without shame, And every dawn still speaks your name. They say the hurt will fade away, But grief rewrites the soul each day. I carry ashes in the rain, A heart that beats through love and pain. You left, but somehow you remain In every scar, in every flame. And though the world keeps spinning on, Part of me is still undone. I smile sometimes, then break again— Still carrying ashes in the rain. I talk to you in empty rooms, Among the silence and perfume. The memories cut soft and deep, Like songs the lonely learn to keep. Some nights I swear you’re near my side, In quiet winds and changing tides. Not gone enough to disappear, Not close enough to still be here. Love doesn’t end when breathing stops, It echoes long after the clock. I carry ashes in the rain, A heart that beats through love and pain. You left, but somehow you remain In every scar, in every flame. And though the world keeps spinning on, Part of me is still undone. I smile sometimes, then break again— Still carrying ashes in the rain.. Written By Diane Vasquez fc3c90681a794ed5aeb847108f79496e
