Be Ready

[verse] Are you dressed and ready to serve; does your lamp light always burn? Men-in-waiting for their Master, are you awaiting His return? Are you ready when He comes, or does He knock three times, or four? Are you so pining for His coming, you quickly open up the door? [verse] It is so good for those the Master finds a-watching when He comes He will dress and serve at table, and will feed them, every one It is so good for those the Master finds so ready for His call Who will wait like sentries in the night, though His time to come may stall [verse] If the owner of a house knew when the thief was coming by He wouldn’t let his house be robbed, wouldn’t even let him try So you must be ready, proving that you’re one of the elect For the Son of Man will come at a time that you never would expect [verse] Do we question if this Word’s for us, or is meant for other ears? It’s for all You’ve made responsible, who would serve with faith sincere It’s for those You’ve charged to teach Your servants, those You have made wise And for those You find so doing, You will cause their rank to rise [verse] But suppose one beats his servant charge, gets drunk because You might delay?
