Button-fix Type 1 Bonded fasteners: an overview
This one minute video gives a short introduction to the Button-fix Type 1 Bonded panel conector. Panels attached with Button-fix fasteners are: — Removable or interchangeable, unlike panels fixed with adhesive; — More secure than panels hung on split battens or cleats; — Faster to install than other secret fixing methods. The Type 1 Bonded Button-fix specifically: — Can be bonded to panels of any thickness; — Offers either dropdown or sideways engagment; — Is ideal for signage and exhibition displays. The video contains an animation to illustrate clearly how the Type 1 Bonded Button-fix works. It shows how the Button Marker accessory makes the setting out easy, even when working blind. The video also shows an optional self-adhesive Fix-pad for use in light-duty applications and how the mount can be semi-recessed into the panel. Recessing/rebating the Fix reduces the gap between panel and wall to around 2mm, as well as holding the Fix in alignment while the adhesive cures and giving additional strength to the fixing when loaded in shear. Typical applications are: — For signage; — For exhibition and retail displays; — For mounting glass, metal or stone panels; — For any application where bonding to the panel is the only option. Buttonfix Limited manufactures all its fasteners in Britain and received a Queen's Award for Enterprise in Innovation in 2020.
