This song was meant as a warning that killing from afar, by remote control, will not, in the long run, keep us free, safe or respected. It also sprang from my belief that our talk of making our adversaries 'live in caves,' or 'bombing them back into the stone ages,' etc., is really a symptom of our unresolved fear of ourselves--fear that keeps us acting like barbarians even as we use the same term to describe our enemies.
