Part of a series on preparing Google Forms survey data for analysis in Jamovi. This video provides an overview of best practices for data cleaning in Google Sheets, including why creating new columns with formulas is preferable to find and replace, demonstrated with an example of converting text responses into binary values to make transformations easier to verify and error-check. When you are done cleaning your data, download your Google Sheet to a .CSV by going to File -- Download -- Comma Separated Values (.csv). DO NOT USE EXCEL. Then open your .CSV file in jamovi: https://youtu.be/putvHX5HGmw. You will create total scores in jamovi, unless you are categorizing data with subscale means and IF statements.
