The Dead Bug is a very common exercise for training the core. Unfortunately, while it may be very common, it is very rarely performed correctly. Most often what we see are people flailing the arms and legs back and forth with the back being whipped around. Not only does this do very little to improve motor control and the functional capacity of the core, but it also creates a significant risk for a back injury. This video will take you step-by-step through the process of learning how to correctly position your body, activate your core, and how to move with precise motor control.
