Learning based systems are designed using Artificial Neural Network (ANN). Therefore certain fundamental knowledge about ANNs are very essential for designing applications based on pattern recognition principles. In this lecture, the basic concepts related to the design of ANN using a range of approaches in Matlab are discussed.
