DIY Fiesta Flags in Canva
Hello! Today we are making DIY Fiesta Flags in Canva. You will often see these colorful flags during Cinco De Mayo or Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead). They are a hallmark of Mexican culture. We are paying tribute today while designing our own. To design: 1. In Canva, create a new design of 11"x8.5" (standard US letter paper in landscape). 2. In Elements, search for square shape. Make sure it is a shape not image. The shape allows all sides to be manipulated. 3. Stretch the square into a rectangle that is almost as big as the canvas. 4. Change the color of the rectangle by selecting the rectangle then click/tap on the rainbow circle. Select your desired color. 5. In elements search for and select a half circle shape. 6. Resize and duplicate it to make a scalloped border at the top of the colored rectangle. 7. Select all the half circles, group, and change the color to match your design. Then duplicate. 8. Rotate the duplicated scallop 180• to make it upside down for the bottom edge of the colored rectangle. 9. Select and group both scalloped edges and the center rectangle. 10. Choose shapes or images for your first flag. 11. Duplicate the page until you have all the desired colors of your design. 12. Each time the page is duplicated change the color of that flag to match your pattern or design. 13. Delete the previous images and shapes. Add new ones to your liking. 14. Once the flags are complete, download your design as a PDF and print. 15. Cut out around the scalloped edges and tape to a backdrop. Let me know in the comments if you made these. Share if you found this helpful. Thank you for watching! Take care.
