Doom 2 - Sunlust map 19 UVmax
This map is brutal from the start - a cyberdemon is immediately facing the player, while two archviles deny the entire left portion of the arena and the super shotgun. It is ideal if infighting occurs between the cyber and the revenants, which fortunately did happen, allowing me to get the RL and focus on the AVs. Otherwise i would've had to scramble for the SSG and hope for the best. This map also features one of the most memorable fights in the wad: four rows of archviles on each side of a long room (the one in the thumbnail, actually) alternate between each other, while a horde of enemies moves up towards the player. Killing the closest archies first and breaking line of sight with the ones further down while fighting everything else off is probably the way to go here. However this is one of those fights where if something goes wrong there is probably no recovery. The last fight features one of the hardest space restriction based encounters i've ever seen. Took me some time to figure this one out. Still, the fact that i exit this map with over 300 cells in reserve bothers me a bit.
