This video deals with the Dumas method. This is a quantitative analytical chemistry technique used to determine the amount of nitrogen in chemical substances. It was first described by Jean-Baptiste Dumas in 1826. In this method nitrogen present in a sample is converted to free nitrogen and its volume is measure. From the volume of nitrogen at a particular temperature and pressure its amount is calculate. After getting amount of nitrogen preset in the sample, its percentage is calculated.
