Fire Within

A new day has come, the sun has risen in the east again. The world is waking back to life – and I am standing in the same old place. Inside my soul the fire still burns, it doesn't fade, it doesn't rest. It burns me quietly from within, it burns from one dawn to the next. Is this a curse, is this some kind of punishment? Every single morning – the same familiar pain. A fire that consumes me, that takes my hope away. Can you extinguish it, can you soothe my pain? Or will you fan the flames – and let me burn forever?
