How to do King Pigeon Pose: Beginner Friendly Tutorial

Welcome to this King Pigeon tutorial! I’m so excited to break this down for you because King Pigeon (Eka Pada Rajakapotasana) is a yoga pose that I struggled with for a very long time, and I can’t WAIT to share the techniques and specific warm-up that allowed me to approach the pose with confidence. 👑 🐦‍⬛ There’s a lot going on in King Pigeon! It’s a deep hip opener, it’s a backbend, it requires strength and flexibility in many areas of the body all at once: hip flexors, quads, shoulders and spine. I highly recommend that you warm up these areas well before attempting this tutorial. However, I will show you my favorite warm-up pose to prepare for King Pigeon, as well as 3 different versions of the pose so that you can find the one that works for you.
