How to parkrun

A handy guide if you're visiting Perth parkrun for the first time. When you arrive at Perth parkrun, congregate on the grass by the start line so that we can keep the path clear for other users. Listen carefully to the Run Director when they deliver their briefing as there will be things that are important for you to know. Once the briefing is over, line up on the path ready for the start. We ask that quicker runners go to the front, slower runners go further back. Align yourself with where you think you should be so that you have a great running experience. When you're coming to the end of your run/walk, cross the finish line, keep moving through the funnel and stay in line. Collect your finish token then go towards one of our barcode scanners, who will be wearing a bright pink bib, to get your barcode and your finish token scanned. Your barcode can be a physical copy or a photo on your phone. Both work the same. Even if you don't want a time, keep going through the funnel, collect your token and put the token in one of the many tubs by the scanners. This makes it easier for us when producing the results. Once you've had your barcode scanned and you've put your token in the tub, please go behind the funnel if you're leaving or going to collect your top. If you're keen to cheer on a friend, stand by the side of the path to do so, let them go through the funnel and meet them once they're through. DO NOT go back through the funnel with them as this can potentially mess up the results. We hope you enjoy your experience at Perth parkrun and look forward to welcoming you on Saturday!
