Assembly in scalable production volumes of hybrid lasers at PHIX in The Netherlands.
The manufacturing of these narrow linewidth tunable lasers typically involves edge coupling one or more indium phosphide (InP) gain sections to a silicon nitride (SiN) photonic integrated circuit, attaching a fiber array, and wire bonding the electrical connections. The butterfly package is often a very suitable standard housing, for which hermiticity can also be provided.
