I Don't Know You
I have chosen a jarring genre for a jarring message here, a bit different than my usual style. There will be a big difference between the fate of those who are merely religious in an outward sense, saying all the right things to be accepted in church society, but not really changed on the inside, and those who actually know Jesus and are known by Him. Have you made sure you are going to be welcomed in by Him? [verse] You’re coming through our villages, our towns, and all our hamlets Teaching on Your way to Your life’s work Many people ask You, “Are You only going to save a few… Will there be many who enjoy Your kingdom’s perks?” [chorus] “But I don’t know you, I don’t know where you are from You’ll say that I have eaten with you, but repentance didn’t come You’ll say I taught you much, but I do not know who you are Get away from Me, your evil ways are driving you afar!” [verse] Are we making every effort to go through the narrow door Even though, when many try, they’ll not be able? Will we find ourselves outside, when You close the door at last Knocking, pleading that we might sit at Your table? [chorus] [verse] Will we be those who weep and gnash our teeth, when we view the kingdom’s table When we see the prophets, and the saints of the past? Do we think we’re in, when we’re thrown out, while men from east, west, north, and south Will be in first, while we are coming last?
