Melchizedek
There are some figures in Scripture who seem to pass by almost unnoticed—only a few verses, a brief moment, and then they’re gone. Melchizedek is one of them. He appears without introduction, holds a role that feels unusual, and then disappears just as quickly as he came. And yet, long after his story ends, his name surfaces again in ways that feel anything but accidental. It raises a quiet but important question: why would someone so briefly mentioned carry such weight across the rest of the Bible? As we continue toward Easter, we’ll sit in that tension and begin to see that this moment in the story may be pointing beyond itself to something far greater than it first appears.
