Passin' Through

[verse] When I enter any town, I’m just a-passin’ through I know there’ll be men there, who are just as rich as you A politician’s wealth, he is mistreating the poor Why should this one be a leader in this town any more? [verse] Well, the man would like to see You, before I pass on through But he don’t have eyes to see, what ever will he do? O Lord, You must provide a healthy sycamore So they can see, transcendently, You are worthy to adore! [verse] When I say unto the man, “I am just a-passin’ through “I know you are in need; I must come and stay with you” He now has eyes to see, and opens up his door And the church gripes “What is He staying with that ‘sinner’ for?” [verse] The politician says to the one who’s passin’ through “I’ll start giving to the poor, and much more will I do” “I’ll pay back several times those who think I am a cheat…” “And it’s all because You stayed with me… they will think that’s really neat!” [verse] Salvation came to you, through a man just passin’ through And now your family… are becoming Christians, too If you’re influential, rich…you must calculate the cost It’s important for God’s sons to seek and save what was lost!
