Count The Cost
This song starts out with one of Jesus' hyperbolic sayings, the intensity which shocks the listener at first, but then settles into one being reminded that the Kingdom of God is a realm where "all or nothing" is the rule, and one must be entirely prepared to give their whole life... yes, everything...if they want to serve and follow Him. [verse] If any come to Me expecting My discipleship, they must be ‘hating’ everyone they know, As all relations come and go, not even stop to say ‘Hello’ Anyone who doesn’t carry and endure his cross, but only follows so that he will be seen, Would like appearances his life is clean, but it is not what it seems [chorus] Count the cost before you try to follow Me Here, along the Galilean Sea [verse] Suppose that one of you would like to build a house… won’t you check to know your wallet has enough? Building your own mansion can be very rough, when the times are tough If you start on the foundation, yet can’t finish it, all who see you will begin to ridicule “He didn’t even have all the right tools, what a silly fool, go to school…” …and… [chorus] [verse] Suppose you are a king about to go to war, wouldn’t you figure out if you could really win? Not enough weaponry would be a sin…count your men again If you’re unable to defeat the coming enemy, you’d better send someone to ask for terms of peace, you’d better see if you could buy release, sing another tune…very soon… [chorus] [verse] Suppose you are some salt that’s lost its saltiness, can a reputation gone bad be restored? Can it bear the good fruit anymore?…Rid their minds of doubt?…Throw him out!… [chorus] If desiring to support this ministry, please either mail check or cash to: Gary Gabrielson 6620 Monitor Road, El Dorado, CA 95623 or visit my GoFundMe site below: https://gofund.me/66817128
