Experience a taste of Yoga Nidra--Yogic Sleep--with this 61 point meditation and Wave Breath into deep relaxation and sleep. Yoga Nidra is a practice that will leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed, like you’ve taken a long, luxurious nap. It is also a great practice to use before bed, for deep and healing sleep. Begin lying down, comfortable and well-supported. Be aware of the space around you, and your connection to the Earth beneath you. Allow yourself to settle Into the cradle of the earth, drawing the space around you like a blanket. There is nothing you need to do except soften. Take a moment to declare your intention for this practice, using a positive I am statement, like I am calm, I am supported, I am whole. Take a moment to identify that statement for yourself, even if it feels aspirational right now. For Yoga Nidra, I encourage you to settle deeply into stillness. I’ll begin to mention parts of the body, and invite you to bring your attention to each part as if shining a warm glowing light. You don't need to tighten, to release--there's nothing to do but gently shine the light of your attention. After the body scan, we'll move into Wave Breath, inviting deep relaxation. This excerpt was recorded during a live virtual meditation class-- Meditation for healthcare workers, cancer survivors, caregivers, and anyone curious about the healing benefits of mindfulness. Explore different meditation practices, including guided imagery, single-focus, and mindfulness meditation.  This class supports beginners, as well as people who want to deepen their meditation practice. Studies indicate that mindfulness is an effective tool for managing stress, fear and pain, decreasing anxiety and improving well-being. You don’t need anything for class— just a place to rest comfortably. It’s very powerful to meditate in community.
