This exercise is a progression of the Pelvic Rocks exercise, and I encourage you to begin there first. The Spinal Wave video incorporates the thoracic and cervical spine along with the lumbar spine and pelvis. You’ll gently move through oppositional contraction and expansion of the front and back bodies, and help support the release of lingering tensions in the low back, lower abdominals, upper back and chest. This exercise also teaches oppositional relaxation and activation of the front body/back body relationship.
