Tai Chi 5 Principles | 45 Degree Angle
The 45-degree angle helps you get to the root. With the idea of the rooting, we're not meaning static like a tree, it's more like being connected. Staying true to the 45-degree angles allows the body to connect, allows the body to line-up. It stabilizes and allows the joints to move properly. Look at it from the perspective of a physics element where you're triangulating the forces through the body to create more stability, allowing the joints to go through a good range of motion while still maintaining the alignment. Having too much angle doesn't allow the body to align properly. Too little angle destabilizes, so you're not stable. Now your structure wobbles around, collapses. Focus on keeping your body stabilized through the alignments. It's this alignment that allows you to connect the parts of the body so that the energy can flow through the body and express through the limbs without any hindrances. Once the body starts to get more open and the movements become lighter and freer, that connection starts to happen, stronger and stronger. 4:31 Memories of Mr. Moy SHARE THIS VIDEO: https://youtu.be/2AsskZKfeMk If you have any questions feel free to put them in the comment box below!
