The Transaction

If you didn't know, The Transfiguration is a Transaction taking place. In Luke 9:30-31, "And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias [Elijah]: who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem." It is also written in verse 29, that as Jesus prayed, "the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering." Matthew 17: 2, tells us that Jesus, "was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light." The importance is about Moses and Elijah speaking with Jesus of what "he should accomplish at Jerusalem." Through these accounts, Pastor Burleson reminds us to Walk in the Spirit and fulfill God's business. Elijah prophesized about Jesus, and God fulfilled the Law in Jesus. God wants you to Love thy neighbor as thy self and Love God with all your heart, mind, and soul. To love God, you have to have a relationship with God. To do that you need to read His Word daily, attend Church weekly, and listen to God. Do you line up with the scriptures? In other words, do your actions align with what you say you believe? Pastor Burleson begins this lesson in 1 Kings 17-19 with Elijah performing the greatest miracle at Mt. Carmel and running for his life. And then, showing Elijah being lifted up into heaven in a Chariot of Fire in 2 Kings 2:11. Elijah didn't die, but Moses did. Pastor Burleson talks about God showing Moses the promise land, but not letting Moses enter into the Promise Land. He brings this backdrop to us, so we realize the significance of these two men appearing on the mountain where Jesus was praying. Listen to this lesson, and find out more.
