Tim Bounces Back!

The humble elastic band can take on new properties if you have enough of them - Tim demonstrates a bouncing ball consisting of just elastic bands! Tim then shows a photo of an enormous ball made from elastic bands. It was created about 20 years ago, and Tim thinks that it held the world record at the time as the largest ball ever made from elastic bands! A ball with long strands of rubber on the outside. This one does not bounce, but it is very soft, so good for catching and maybe for juggling as well. Then a ball with long strands of elastic - an amazing effect when you roll them along the table. A tomato which is squishy... Then a ball made from a large number of springs - and it actually bounces quite well! A 'Cube Ball' - a cube made of soft rubber, with a super bouncing ball in the middle... And a similar toy - it looks like a cow, and it is made from soft rubber, with with a very hard, elastic ball inside. Then a larger ball made from a number of smaller balls... Then a ball that you can deflate, but it also has a valve mechanism inside, which allows you to inflate it again. Very ingenious! A 'Pump Ball' it is called. Finally, a puzzle that you solve by throwing it on the table, whereupon it comes apart!
