GeoDirectory is compatible with most of the popular SEO plugins. If installed, a new option will appear at the top of the settings, allowing you to force your directory pages to use the settings here, instead of what is set by the SEO plugin. Throughout this page, you will find help icons. Hovering over the icon will show extra information about the setting. For each page type, you have dynamic tags. These allow you to populate certain information dynamically. Clicking a dynamic tag will copy it to your clipboard, allowing you to quickly paste it into the settings. Each page type, allows you to change the title, meta title, and the meta description. The title setting, appears on the frontend page. Where this is output on the page can depend on the theme or page builder you are using. The meta title does not show on the page but is embedded in the webpage source code. Search engines use this title to know what the page is about, and often use it in their search results. The meta description is similar to the meta title, it does not appear on the page but can be used by some search engines to give a much greater description of the page content. If you are using either, our paid Custom Post Types extension, or our free Events plugin, you can override the root custom post type settings individually in their own general settings page. If you have our paid Locations Manager installed, the locations page settings, with dynamic content are used for all locations. You can set SEO meta information per location under the locations settings page.
