This is Part 3 of our tutorial series on creating a dynamic pavement tie-in in Civil Site Design.
Having established the dynamic driveway geometry (Part 1) and linked it to the road surface (Part 2), we now combine these live strings into a single, cohesive design surface using Model Builder.
This video is essential for finalising the design surface and preparing it for output.
We demonstrate how to use Model Builder to merge the main road string and the driveway Grading String(s) into a single surface. We then show how to inspect the result in Model Viewer to validate the design. Crucially, we cover post-processing the surface using Surface Manager, including applying boundary retraction to clean up excess triangulation and manually editing the surface by adding/deleting edges for ultimate surface definition control.
