With winter weather/hard freezes approaching, I put the girls up for season.
I pulled the feeders and installed candy boards/quilt boxes on all hives. Also put a layer of double bubble/reflectix under the lid. 4 of the 5 hives had a decent amount of bees. The cross/old queen hive was PACKED. Unfortunately the combined swarm was still really small and I'm less confident they'll make it thru the winter. I added some insulation to the sides after the inspection with upcoming cold snap. Fingers crossed these gals make it thru.
