The session explains why using a VM can be an effective way to experience Linux natively without the need for dual booting. You will be guided through the process of downloading Ubuntu, installing and configuring a hypervisor such as VirtualBox or VMware Workstation Player, and creating and launching your own Linux virtual machine. The lecture also explores alternative command-line environments including Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL), as well as cloud-based platforms like Replit and CoCalc, and even a mobile-friendly option using Termux. By the end of this video, you will have a complete understanding of how to set up and operate Linux within Windows and will be ready to begin your journey into the Linux shell.
