This track is basically about the moment childhood narratives stop protecting you. Not just losing innocence in a vague coming-of-age sense, but realizing the systems you were taught to trust aren’t nearly as stable, fair, or moral as they were presented to be. A lot of the writing came from growing up during nonstop televised tragedy and watching fear become part of the background noise of everyday life. The way news cycles flatten grief into repetition. The way violence, corruption, and disaster slowly start feeling normalized because they’re constantly fed through screens until your brain adapts to the static. I wanted the structure of the song to reflect that shift directly. It starts almost nostalgic and warm, leaning into those idealized childhood aesthetics, then gradually corrodes into distortion, glitches, pressure, and collapse. Like innocence degrading in real time under the weight of accumulated reality. The swing samples and older textures were intentional too. They represent this romanticized sense of stability and “good guys vs bad guys” storytelling, while the harsher electronic elements slowly invade and dismantle it. By the end, the song isn’t really asking for comfort anymore. It’s just acknowledging the machinery underneath everything. Probably one of the heavier tracks emotionally, but also one of the most honest. --- © 2026 All rights reserved. This music, artwork, and audiovisual content are the original property of the artist.
