Peter demonstrates he now understands the Word of God differently than he previously did. He has learned that Jesus is the interpretive key to understanding the Old Testament. He has learned also that every word matters and we can sometimes overlook things that, in light of Jesus, become blindingly obvious. He learned a lesson from being completely wrong about the crucifixion of Messiah that only became clear in the resurrection.
