This video shows how to replace a homing sensor on the ABRA Autoblaster CNC. Homing sensors tell the machine when it has reached its home position. Replace the sensor if the machine fails to home, homes inconsistently, or throws a homing-related fault. Process overview: Loosen the set screw that locks the sensor in place, then remove the sensor. Unscrew the back of the sensor and check that the area is clean and free of dust before installing the new part. Install the new sensor by placing the front screw first, then thread the sensor into the back side until it is snug. Reinsert the sensor, check alignment and how far it protrudes, then reinstall the locking nut on the front side and snug it down. Finish tightening with a 17 mm wrench. Finally, test by jogging the axis up and down to confirm the sensor stops the machine correctly at home. Safety: Power off the machine before removing or installing sensors. Tools: 17 mm wrench.
