Psalm 25

Inspired by Psalm 25, and "Amazing Grace". Amazing Grace is one of my favorite hymns. I think that Psalm 25 is a fantastic Psalm for trying to approximate that iconic hymn with lyrics that closely adhere to the verses of the Psalm. I hope you find this a blessing. For your review, here are the lyrics that I used: To You, O Lord, I lift my soul; O God, in You I trust. Let me not suffer shame from foes, Nor the boast of men unjust. Yes, none who wait upon Your name Shall ever blush with shame; But those who deal deceitfully Shall bear their guilt and blame. O Lord, make known to me Your ways; Your holy paths teach me. Lead me in truth and guide my heart, My saving God to be. All day I wait in hope for You; Your mercies, Lord, recall Your steadfast love from ancient days Has been my stay through all. Recall not sins of former years, Nor faults of youth, I pray; According to Your steadfast love Remember me today. Good and upright the Lord is found; He shows the lost His way; The humble He will guide in right And teach without delay. All paths of God are faithful love For those who keep His word, Who hold His covenant in faith And walk before the Lord. For Your name’s sake, O Lord, forgive; My guilt is very great. Who fears the Lord? Him He will teach The path that He makes straight. His soul shall dwell in quiet peace; His seed the land shall gain. The Lord befriends all those who fear He makes His covenant plain. My eyes are ever on the Lord; He frees my feet from snare. Turn, Lord, and show Your grace to me, For I am in despair. Look on my grief and on my pain; Forgive my sin, I pray. Consider foes, for they are great, With cruel hate arrayed. O keep my soul and rescue me; Let me not suffer shame, For I in You have put my trust And called upon Your name. Let truth and pure integrity Preserve me while I wait. Redeem, O God, Your Israel From troubles, small and great.
