Psalm 9

Inspired by Psalm 9. Chant in style but with a contemporary beat. For those that would like to read along here are the lyrics used for this Psalm: I’ll praise You, Lord, with all my heart, Your mighty deeds proclaim; In You I’ll joy and gladly sing And bless Your holy name. When enemies before You flee, They stumble, fall, and fade; For You uphold my righteous cause And judge with truth displayed. The nations You have cast aside, The wicked You destroy; Their names erased, their cities gone, Their boasts no more employ. But You, O Lord, endure always, Your throne forever stands; In righteousness You judge the world With just and faithful hands. A refuge strong You are for those Who suffer and are pressed; All who Your holy name have known In You securely rest. Sing praise to God who dwells on high, In Zion make Him known; Proclaim His works among the earth, His wonders widely shown. He does not fail the humble cry When blood is called to mind; The needy He will not forget, Nor leave the poor behind. Have mercy, Lord, and see my grief From those who seek my fall; You lift my life from death’s dark gate, My song Your praise shall call. The nations fall by snares they set, Their own designs betray; The Lord is known by judgments just— The wicked’s works give way. The poor shall not be lost in time, Nor hope forever cease; For God remembers those in need And guards them in His peace. Arise, O Lord, let man not boast, Let nations fear Your name; Make known that they are mortal still, And You alone the same.
