REMEMBER ME

Here's another very old song of mine that I wrote way back in 1985 and it's about a pet Parakeet I used to have as a child. I have been tweaking the lyrics for many years and I just recently added a third verse to it. This is one of the earliest songs I ever wrote, I dug it up recently and re-recorded the music and sang it (sorry about that!). It sounds very poppy and very disco because that's how I wrote some of my songs way back when. I thnk someone helped me with the lyrics in the first 2 verses but I can't recall who? One of my buddies while I was in the Air Force. There will be more Disco songs coming up because I wrote several in my growing up in my teenage and early adult years.. The story is very simple, it's about a little kid letting his pet bird go free because the child knows the bird wants to fly and be free. So obviously the kid was me and I remember letting him go but I don't remember whatever became of him after that? You know, if you really love someone you've got to let them go, no matter how much it hurts you. The song is old but I recently rerecorded the music and the video is also brand new, I put it together around last Thanksgiving. In the video I tried to show the similarities between letting a letting a pet go free and having a child leave the nest for the first time and becoming independent and a young adult. It's very hard on both accounts, I know! You don't want to let them go but let them go you must! You'll see what I mean towards the end of the video with the little girl and the Parakeets! Anyway I hope you all enjoy it, it's very sentimental, childish and foolish but love is like that too sometimes and I still love the song!
