THE LAST TIME

Here's another old song I wrote back around 2001, several years after my divorce during those depressing dark times before I met Anita. I don't do well alone, as you all know by now, if you've heard some of my sad songs. I had forgotten all about this one and came across it late last year and decided to re-record it. I worked on the guitar picking technique a bit more and refined the melody and re-worked the lyrics a little bit as well. Charlie and I had recorded this song early on, and quite frankly, we ruined it! We didn't rehearse it enough and we were flat and off key. It was a mess! So since Charlie is still nursing his wife back to health, I decided to re-record some old songs that we had messed up years ago. I'm singing this one too so please forgive me for that again! Don't worry, I know I can't sing, maybe I should just give that up and let A.I. sing my songs, I'm thinking about it seriously now. Charlie should be back pretty soon though. So this song is about saying goodbye to a person that you've loved for a long time but now have to let go and break-up with because of one thing or another. It's another tear-jerker song. No pain, no gain, right? I don't remember much about the song, I remember being very down and depressed and the words came to me while I was at work and then I wrote the music several days afterwards during my days off. Some mistakes in life just can't be forgiven and when a marriage loses its trust, there is no hope for that marriage. The video is brand new and I finished it before last Christmas.
