Digging in sensitive forest soils is never a good idea, but in this old growth forest in #ottawa, it's diminishing the woods' abililty to regenerate on its own, and for volunteers to protect what's left.
Cycling should be kept to the main gravel and paved paths, and never within the woods themselves. Bike tires can compact and erode soil, and bring in invasive plant species.
