To be a Bird
I’d love, just for one day, to be a bird, to glide so freely, to rise up into the air. To see the world’s beauty from above, to reach beyond the clouds and fly, fly on and on forever, no destination in the sky. Rain or wind, I want to be free. Just one day without the stress, without other people all around me. To be a bird, to lift up somewhere over earth. To be a bird, to leave it all behind and once feel the world go quiet, feel my heart beat soft and light. To be a bird, and never come back down. Not to hear the words, not to feel the cold of life, not to count the days or know the weight of walls. Only sky, wings, and open space, only light and silence that does not hurt, but lets me stay. Rain or wind, I want to be free. Just one day without the stress, without other people all around me. To be a bird, to lift up somewhere over earth. To be a bird, to leave it all behind and once feel the world go quiet, feel my heart beat soft and light. To be a bird, and never come back down. Maybe wings aren’t needed to rise up there for a while. Maybe it’s enough to close your eyes and let go of what holds you down. To be a bird, just one day, just one flight. To be a bird, above the noise, above the night. Rain or wind, I want to be free. To be a bird and disappear into the sky today.
