The story of the world's first steam railway locomotive, built in South Wales by a Cornishman, and first run in February 1804. Sadly, we don't know what it looked like - something acdemics have been struggling with since the 1950s! In 2019 a re-assessment of the evidence provided a "best fit" suggestion as to its appearance and function. Enjoy!
